Good Monday morning,

We need to remember and talk about the things which God has done for us more often.

Along with the promises found within the pages of our Bible, our personal testimonies are also powerful.

satan and all his demons are overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and because we’re not so in love with our own lives that we dismiss God’s call. But also, we overcome by telling others about what God has done for us. Our testimony is a critical weapon against the powers of darkness.

A testimony is a, “declaration of truth or fact.”

When we tell everyone our testimony, the devil is beat down, and so we overcome him! No wonder he always tries to get us to dismiss and forget the wonderful works of God in our lives.

When we see casualties and chaos around us (and it’s everywhere), it’s natural to begin to fear what we see. This is why it’s so important to remember and ponder upon the wonderful things which have happened in our lives. These kinds of thoughts give us the hope and strength which builds and establishes the creative force of faith.

Negativity is spiritual faith too. It originates from the evil pit of rebellion and can only be destroyed when we remember and tell our testimony.

As I was recently pondering some good things God has done for me, I remembered a testimony which I heard a few years ago. Mary Jo, a long time friend of our family, once told me about an extraordinary miracle which happened in her life. She suffered lifelong pain due to a serious sinus condition. Then, one night, a few of us prayed for her.

Let me share her testimony in her own words.

When I was about twenty-two years of age I began having terrible sinus
headaches. They would be so bad that sometimes I thought, “if my eyes would just pop out, or if all my teeth could be pulled I would feel better.” I felt so bad that I had to put hot packs on my forehead, and just sleep it off.

About this time Dristan came out on the market, and if I took them, just as I felt a headache coming on, they would keep it from being so bad. If I
didn't take one right as the headache started, I would have to go to
bed again and sleep it off.

Eventually my pain became so bad that I went to an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist. In order to help me, he would power flush out my sinuses. I had to go through that lovely experience every spring and fall. Over time, gristle built up in my nasal passages because the doctor would have to shove a long syringe needle through the bridge of my nose. The last time I went to that specialist, the gristle was so thick he had to use the heel of his hand to shove the needle through.

One Thursday night, it was getting close to the time to go to Carl and Dottie’s house for our Bible study. I had earlier told Lee (my husband) that I was going to stay home because I had such a terrible headache. As the time passed, and it got closer to the time for Lee to leave, the Holy Spirit told me to get ready and go. I thought to myself, “I could hurt at Carl and Dottie’s just the same as I could at home.” So I went.

At the Bible Study we always opened up with prayer; so I asked them to pray for me. Carl, Wayne, and another older man with a long gray beard touched my head and prayed. I kept waiting for the pain to go away, and when it didn't I thought to myself, “the old devil is still keeping me in pain.” However, as we went on with the Bible Study, about thirty minutes later I noticed my headache was gone!

To make a long story short, that happened about fifteen years ago, and I
haven't had a headache since, and I give all the PRAISE and GLORY to the Lord for He is Worthy!

Sometimes the old devil tries to put them back on me, but I just tell
him, "don't even go there because by the stripes of Jesus Christ I am healed forever.” I still thank the Lord every day for His healing and will praise His name forever!!!

Mary Jo Hoffman

Thank you, Mary Jo, for telling us this wonderful testimony.

Honestly, I don’t remember praying for her. I can’t recall one thing about that night, not one thing at all. But hearing her testimony builds my faith and my willingness to pray for others. Plus, when I’m battling a headache, remembering this story helps me trust God for good things, like healing.

Yet sometimes this happens: we pray and God answers, and then later on we don’t look back and remember or give God praise. We forget about the deliverance God gave. But how often we remember the bad!

We rehearse the bad. We share it and re-live it, to ourselves and others, sometimes over and over again. In so doing, we imprison our faith behind iron bars of unbelief. This is of course the devil’s doing, to get our eyes off our testimonies, because our good testimonies kick his teeth in every time we share them.

Rise up and shine and remember the good things, talk about them too. Then we can rule victoriously as we remember and share with the world our most treasured possession, the testimony of the overcomer.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:10-11
